Router Dilemma!

Ah, the joys of gear acquisition! I recently found myself deep in thought over which 1U MikroTik router to order, and let me tell you, the struggle was real!
First up was the CCR2116-12G-4S+. It had a wallet-friendly price, but only 4 SFP+ ports. Sure, it could handle some serious data, but was that really enough for my networking ambitions? Not a chance!
Then came the beast: the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ. With 12 SFP+ ports, better switching chip (98DX8525 instead of 98DX3255), and even more hardware memory, it had everything I wanted. The downside? It was 2.8 times more expensive. Ouch! My bank account was definitely sweating.
After much deliberation (and probably too much coffee), I finally made the call. On August 17th, I hit the order button and secured the MikroTik CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ.
Was it impulsive? Maybe. But sometimes, you just have to go big or go home! Here’s to new adventures with my new powerhouse, let the routing experiments fun begin!
