Spontaneous Racking at NIKHEF!

Mission accomplished! My new router is officially racked, and as usual, the process had a few fun twists. It all kicked off with a last-minute ping to Arend for a quick install.
I reached out to Arend, hoping to score a spontaneous rack appointment. Lucky for me, he was still hanging around the Frisian IX zone (a.k.a. Amsterdam). Perfect timing! Big thanks to Arend for making time for this impromptu “date” at NIKHEF, I couldn’t have planned it better.
Step one? Clearing out some space. We started by unracking an old ERITAP client that was just gathering dust in the rack. Once that relic was out, we made room for my shiny new router. And what a spot! It went into a prime rack unit, placed perfectly at eye level for easy access. But the real win? Getting the most crucial cable hooked up, the Frys-IX port, blazing away at 10 Gbps. Now we’re talking!
The next morning, my buddy Pim jumped in, to run a quick check on the Quarantine VLAN. Everything looked smooth, and within no time, my router was promoted to the Production VLAN.
